We hope that everyone has been coping well during the pandemic, and we'd like to express our gratitude towards all the essential workers and basically everyone who has been working non-stop to fight the virus or who has been working to make our lives at home a lot easier and comfortable! On with our blogpost, being creative isn't about being an amazing artist and it's not limited to people in the creative/arts industry. Creativity exists everywhere, and it's about how we think as people, how we solve recurring problems and how we express ourselves. Being creative could range from having an unpopular perspective to multiple perspectives.
We've been taught Art in school for a reason, it allows us to express ourselves and it allows us to create things that we may not be able to put into words. Creativity can benefit us in so many ways, and in this post, we're giving you 3 reasons why staying creative is important and beneficial!
1. It exercises your mind
Allowing yourself to be creative means allowing your mind to wander to places you may not have thought of. Exercising your creativity allows you to practice generating new ideas, practice your ability to focus on the task at hand and encourages us to allow the process of constant learning.
2. Improves problem-solving
Being creative allows you to have a different perspective as well, which then helps you to see a different point of view. Sometimes when we are presented with a problem or with conflict, we may find it hard to be compassionate simply because its not our way of thinking. Allowing yourself to be creative helps us with being open-minded, this allows us to relate to others and aids our ability to come up with solutions.
3. It promotes self-growth.
Apart from being able to empathise and understand others, being creative allows you to celebrate your own uniqueness. Everyone is different, and we all have our own strengths and flaws. On top of that, we are also creative in different ways, and we like to express ourselves in different ways! Allowing yourself to be creative will help with self-expression, no matter what media you chose! It exercises the way you come across through that creativity and in turn, helps to alleviate stress and anxiety.
We hope that you'll start exercising your creativity at home! You don't have to go at it alone, of course, get your loved ones involved, play some games or perhaps watch a movie and have a good chat about it! Stay safe everyone!
